Course Overview
This course provides essential knowledge for maintaining a safe work environment when using overhead cranes. You'll learn about crane components, inspection procedures, lifting techniques, and communication protocols to prevent incidents. It also covers rigging basics — including how to identify damaged components, ensure safe load setup, and understand your equipment's capabilities.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the different types of overhead cranes and their proper uses
 - Understand the importance of pre-work inspections and regular crane maintenance
 - Understand the importance of proper and up-to-date training
 - Perform pre-work inspections
 - Know what component breakdown hazards to look for and how to prevent them
 - Maintain a safe overhead crane environment on a worksite

 - Understand the importance of proper and up-to-date rigging training
 - Perform pre-work inspections

This course takes approximately 240 minutes to complete
A passing grade of 80% or higher required. Up to 3 attempts are provided.
A certificate will be provided upon the successful completion of this course
