Welding, Cutting and Brazing for Construction
Course Overview
Construction workers must take steps to prevent injury and damage when welding, cutting and brazing. The risk from fatal injuries alone is more than four deaths per thousand workers over a working lifetime. Therefore, care must be taken to ensure that work is performed safely. This course introduces common hazards associated with welding, cutting, and brazing and ways to prevent injury and damage. Ideal learners are employees who perform hot work.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify fire prevention techniques used during welding, cutting and brazing
- Recognize hazards associated with oxyacetylene and arc welding and methods to prevent these hazards
- Recall the proper handling, transportation, use and storage of compressed gas cylinders
- Identify personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn when performing hot work operations
- Identify safety concerns when welding, cutting and brazing in confined spaces
This course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete
A passing grade of 80% or higher required. Up to 3 attempts are provided.
A certificate will be provided upon the successful completion of this course
