Course Overview
This course provides learners with an understanding of what natural rubber latex is, how widespread it is in the healthcare industry and the hazards associated with it. The course is intended for the broad spectrum of healthcare workers who need a general awareness and understanding of latex exposure and types of allergic reactions that can occur with use of natural rubber latex.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Define natural rubber latex
- Describe the use of natural rubber latex in the healthcare industry
- Identify the types of reactions that can occur from using natural rubber latex products
- Describe symptoms associated with the three types of allergic reactions that can occur with natural rubber latex exposure
