Fall Protection Fundamentals course
Course Overview
Falls remain one of the leading causes of workplace incidents worldwide. Even skilled professionals are vulnerable if they overlook safety measures. This online training program introduces learners to the core principles of fall protection, helping them recognize hazards, use safety systems effectively, and meet industry standards.
Through engaging lessons, participants will explore risk factors when working at elevated levels, understand their legal and employer responsibilities, and learn how to properly select, inspect, and maintain fall protection equipment such as harnesses, connectors, and anchors.
The course also covers crucial safety practices, including calculating fall clearance, handling tools at heights, and responding to emergencies. Rescue planning, suspension trauma prevention, and self-rescue techniques are included to ensure workers are prepared for real-life scenarios.

- Legal duties of workers under safety regulations
- Risks linked to tasks performed at elevated heights
- Fall arrest systems (anchor points, lanyards, full-body harnesses, and support gear)
- Proper inspection and maintenance of fall arrest devices
- Additional protective gear required on-site
- Understanding free fall risks
- Minimum safe clearance needed for protection systems

- Developing and following emergency procedures

A passing grade of 80% or higher required. Up to 3 attempts are provided.
