We all want to be safe. Nobody ever plans to spend part of their working day being taken to the emergency room , except doctors, of course, but even they don’t want to be taken there in an ambulance.
And yet it, easy to get complacent and assume that nothing will ever go wrong just because it hasn’t happened before.
It, also easy to slip into unsafe working practices when the others around us are doing the same.
Course Overview
We all want to be safe. Nobody ever plans to spend part of their working day being taken to the emergency room , except doctors, of course, but even they don’t want to be taken there in an ambulance. And yet it, easy to get complacent and assume that nothing will ever go wrong just because it hasn’t happened before. It, also easy to slip into unsafe working practices when the others around us are doing the same.
That, why we developed the Building a Lasting Culture of Safety video series. It, designed to help you explain the importance of safety not only for your specific employees, but to the people they work with and the families and friends they go home to every night. Preparing for problems and behaving as though something could go wrong doesn’t mean you’re more likely to make a mistake, but it does mean you’ll be less likely to get injured if the worst does happen.
It also doesn’t mean that this video series is boring. Creating a safe working environment may not be a laughing matter, but that doesn’t mean you can’t laugh while we talk about it. So we’ve loaded these videos with plenty of hilarity to help keep you awake. We don’t want you to die anymore than you do, and we’d hardly be doing our jobs right if you accidentally died from boredom.

The point is, talking about safety doesn’t have to be boring, and neither is this video.
Communicating Safety Issues to Others
- This video covers how (and how not) to share safety issues, concerns, and suggestions with your entire team. Also, there might be an apex predator, and a lazy person will receive a subtle yet unforgettable smack-down.
Effective Use of Safety Signage
- Using safety signs, tapes, tags, and other warning labels is one of the easiest ways to alert your workforce to potential dangers. This video will make sure you use those materials effectively. You’ll also see the scariest bathroom in the world and learn about an exotic new disease.
Hazard Recognition
- This video focuses on hazard prevention by encouraging workers to be mindful of their surroundings and any changing conditions that might cause unexpected dangers to pop up. We’ve also thrown a bit of old-school horror movie in here, so get ready for some creepy violin music.
Emergency Planning Basics
- Nobody wants emergencies to happen. But if they do, it, better to be prepared ahead of time. This video covers some of the essential elements of ensuring that your workforce knows what to do in the event of an emergency. There, also a lot of screaming and running around in this video, which is pretty entertaining. And you’ll learn a new phrase to use if you’re ever on a sinking ship. Lots of fun coming your way!
Designing an Effective Emergency Action Drill
- This video covers how to structure an emergency drill so that everyone feels invested in the process. You’ll also learn what happens if anyone chooses not to participate, and you’ll also also discover what the best cookie in the world is. Because being safe can be delicious.
Conducting an Evacuation
- This video details the specific elements necessary for ensuring that any building evacuation runs smoothly. You’ll learn about the importance of having an immediate response leader, finally learn why sign-in sheets are important, and see at least one person crying for no reason. Warning , this video contains small amounts of unbridled chaos and anarchy.
Proper Accident Investigation Techniques
- This video will showcase the right way to investigate the causes of an accident. You’ll also see several wrong ways to do this, because otherwise this video would be as exciting as a bowl of cold soup. There might also be next week, winning lottery numbers in here, but we’re not making any promises on that one.
Dealing with Employees Who Refuse To Work Safely
- This video discusses various reasons your employees might be engaging in unsafe working practices, along with several strategies for dealing with them. Along the way you’ll see some blindingly stupid workplace behavior, and you’ll also learn why we should never be trusted with eggs
Dealing with Drug & Alcohol Abuse
- Our final video in the Creating a Culture of Safety covers how to deal with the single largest threat to workplace safety , drug and alcohol abuse. We discuss drug testing, how to encourage healthy choices, and the danger of some kinds of muffins. Drug and alcohol abuse is a serious subject, but thankfully that doesn’t mean the video has to be boring.
This course takes approximately 60 minutes to complete
A passing grade of 80% or higher required. Up to 3 attempts are provided.
A certificate will be provided upon the successful completion of this course
