Hours of Service: A Driver's Guide (USA)
This online course helps drivers understand US Hours of Service regulations and recordkeeping requirements.
Course Overview
As the driver of a commercial motor vehicle, you log a lot of miles on the road under a variety of conditions. However, after many hours of driving, fatigue sets in, which can lead to bad decisions and, in some cases, accidents.
For this reason, the US Department of Transportation has establishedspecific regulations regarding a driver's hours of service, as well asthe driver's "record of duty status," commonly known as "the driver'sdaily log."
Hours of Service regulations are based on the premise that if you drive too long, you get tired... and dangerous. No one wants tired drivers on the road.
