Entry-Level Driver Training: Crossing the Canadian Border
Course Overview
Every day, many professional drivers cross the U.S. borders without incident. For the new professional driver however, the thought of delivering goods into another country might seem like a daunting task.
This course is designed to provide an awareness of and knowledge about some of the processes and procedures that can help make a learner's border crossing experience smooth and relatively easy.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Discuss general requirements for crossing the Canadian border
- Describe the process used to cross the border into Canada and back into the United States
- List general differences between the U.S. and Canada when it comes to compliance issues including hours of service, daily vehicle inspections, and vehicle sizes and weights
